Collection: Northern Highbush Blueberries

Your climate region zone is one of the keys for selecting blueberry plant varieties.

Northern Highbush are perfect for Northern regions that receive 800-1000 hours or more of chill. If you are unsure of your chill hours, we have a helpful article on chill hours. You can also make sure to purchase the right blueberry for your USDA zone. All this information is found on the individual pages for each variety.

Blueberries are partially self-fertile and will produce a bigger crop when planted with more than one variety for cross-pollination. Blueberries have early, mid and late fruiting varieties which can provide you with up to 90 days of fruit, so plant some from each. You can expect to harvest berries the second year your plant is in the ground (or a pot).

Grow your blueberries in acidic, well-drained soil. Easy to grow in a large pot filled with half potting soil and half peat, creating a low-acid environment. Keep soil moist and mulched to help conserve moisture. An acidic Loving fertilizer mix is an excellent fertilizer for blueberries.
