Blueberry Bushes
Blueberry Plants
Blueberry plants provide a wonderful supply of berries which are delicious, exceptionally nutritious, and high in bioflavanoids. Gardeners in warmer climates can enjoy growing blueberry plants by choosing one of the Southern Highbush varieties. These require fewer chill hours than the Northern Highbush which require over 1000 hours. Consider climate suitability, ripening season and fruit size when selecting blueberry bush varieties and include at least two different varieties for cross—pollination and fruiting (any two blueberry varieties will do, regardless of ripening time).
Growing Blueberry Bushes
Grow blueberry bushes in acidic, well—drained soil. Cottonseed meal is an excellent fertilizer for blueberry plants along with good quality compost and peat moss. Our blueberry bushes are sold as single bare—root plants.
All blueberry bushes are available to begin shipping in January.
