Matt's Wild Cherry Cherry Tomato Seeds (Organic)
Matt's Wild Cherry Cherry Tomatoes - Early Producer
Cherry Tomato - Matt's Wild Cherry - Lycopersicon esculentum
Tender Annual Heirloom. Indeterminate. Grow a wild tomato. A native of Mexico, this robust and sprawling cherry tomato is loved for the rich flavor of its sweet fruits. An early producer, Matt’s is resistant to early blight and has some resistance to late blight.
Did You Know? This tomato grew wild in the state of Hidalgo, in eastern Mexico near Mexico City.
Soil & Water: Tomatoes love fertile soil that is rich in organic matter. Add plenty of compost prior to planting. Soil pH is preferred between 5.5-7.0. Soak the soil 4"-6" deep at 7-day intervals.
Planting & Growing: Sow seeds in flats 6-8 weeks before the last frost and thin to 2" after the first true leaves appear. Before transplanting after the last frost, harden off the plants by placing them outdoors for a few hours to start, increasing the amount of time each day until they are accustomed to a full day of sunlight.
Harvesting & Storage: Harvest when individual fruits give slightly under finger pressure; the shoulders may not have changed color yet. Due to the thin skins, these tomatoes may crack if left to ripen on the vines, so pick early.

Height At Maturity: 5’-7’
Days to Maturity: 55-60 Days

These tomatoes are too small to even bother harvesting. The growth habit was all over the place, even for an indeterminate tomato. And they were bland.
These germinate really well as do most of PV seeds do. They were really cute little plants but they produce a lot. Tomatoes were about the size of a nickel. Excellent tossed into a salad or as a cute garnish.
We've been growing these for years, but don't put them in your garden. They are a volunteer nightmare. Plant them somewhere they can naturalize, they volunteer great. Kids love them, our absolute favorite cherry.
An amazing variety; tiny fruits that are the perfect size for salads without cutting them. Full tomato flavor and color. Plant itself grows like a weed; gets bushy and produces oodles of fruit in a very long season. No cracking or blemishes and very long season. I had one growing in my compost heap unbeknownst to me that still had edible fruit down under some brush cover that I picked in October! Plan one or two plants and give the lots of space and support.
Grows like wildfire; even producing fruit in the cold Midwest and in a protected compost pile long after frost! As a caterer I love the tiny fruit- no cutting for salads. Vibrant red color and big burst of tomato flavor. No cracking, spots. Highly recommend.
