Obvious quality control problems

I ordered 300 last year and they worked well. We dipped them in a Kaolin clay solution before using them. I ordered 200 more last week and they came with the toe part all tied up in a knot and long strings hanging from the toe. They are also about 1 1/2' shorter which makes them hard to put on the fruit. They definitely have a problem with quality control this year! I wouldn't recommend until they get the problem fixed.

Expecting them to work great

Expecting them to work great. I won’t be using these until next spring but I do expect they will work better than the pantyhose sections I tried last spring. I suspect the pantyhose weren’t heavy enough because the moths went right through them.

Still Learning

Last year I used the Maggot Barrier product found on Amazon that was slightly thinner and more flexible. I found these easier to handle and to mold around the emerging apple. The heavier version does not seem to look like what is shown in the photo. It's squared off end was very difficult for me to keep in place while trying to seal tightly. I really did not want to order from Amazon, but rather support more "local" nurseries. I will see how these work but wonder if others have used the more stretchy, thinner Maggot Barrier (same company) and how their results compare.

clothespin as clasps

I want to try clothespins to clasp the top of my footies. Anyone had luck with them?
