Peaceful Valley Mini Perennial Clover & Grass Mix - Nitrocoated Seed (lb)
Nice Low-Growing Mix
Perennial cover crop. This mix provides a self-sufficient and permanent sod for orchards, groves, and perennial systems where year-round access and soil coverage are needed. It’s especially useful where dust reduction, field access, or managing excessive soil water or fertility is important. Expect clover to emerge first, followed by bentgrass and fine fescue.
White Dutch clover grows only 4–6" tall while retaining the classic white leaf marker and stoloniferous spreading habit of traditional clovers. This smaller form creates a low, dense cover that works well in orchards, lawns, or grazing systems. Once established, the grasses provide stability and additional soil protection.
- Application Rate: 25–50 lb/acre
- Inoculant: None needed, clover is nitrocoated
- Germination: 5–10 Days
- Plant Height: 1–2'
- Uses: Lawns, orchards, erosion control
- Facts to Note: Once established, growth can be maintained at 4–6" with 1–2 mowings annually. Without mowing, grasses will reach 1–2'. Best planted in fall; avoid drill lines—broadcast evenly across the seedbed.
Contains: White Dutch Clover (Trifolium repens), Chewing Fescue (Festuca rubra ssp. falax), Highland Bentgrass
Did You Know? Mini clovers are nitrogen-fixing plants that improve soil fertility naturally, making them a low-input option for lawns, orchards, and pastures.
Note to Certified Organic Growers: All our cover crop seed is untreated and non-GMO. Although this is conventional seed, it is coated with Nitro-Coat, a specialized coating made with rhizobacteria, naturally water-absorbing calcium carbonate to speed germination, and an organic adhesive.

Really Enjoyed the clover while it was in bloom. The plants themselves were was very architectural. The bent grass and chewing fescue were a bit thin after they filled in after the clover. Would recommend planting in succession maybe.
The chemicals in the clouds or just the cold snap made our grass ugly straw, but I joyfully broadcast this mix. Came in gorgeous, and I have used it for the butterflies I've been keeping whose wings did not dry perfectly. The butterflies just love it. I get up every morning and just stare at it, glistening with dew.
We turned over the entire backyard, broadcast fairly densely, watered daily, and the clover started pushing up in just a few days.. chewing fescue only a few days after. The cover is gorgeous, bright green, and looks like a soft bed of forest moss.
We're in NC/7b and this October has been much warmer than average. Can't speak to the longevity, drought tolerance, etc. but we're very happy so far and can't wait for the clover to flower next year!
I planted this for 2 reasons. 1) I wanted a low maintenance lawn. 2) I was having trouble getting anything to grown on the poor rocky woodland soil that surrounded the cabin. This mix worked amazing!
Been trying to get something, anything, to grow on the rocky gravel/poor soil layer that surrounds the cabin. Hadn't had any luck until I bought this. It grows wel, seems pretty durable and looks great. Plus, it stays low enough for me not to mow. I'm buying another bag and will plant more!
