Chamomile - Matricaria recutita

Annual An attractive herb with small white, daisy-like flowers with yellow centers and finely-cut foliage. The flowers are fragrant with an apple-like scent and attract bees, butterflies and birds as well as being a source for herbal tea and medicinal qualities. Both the flowers and foliage, when dried, are used for tea.

Soil and Water: Chamomile likes well-drained, poor to average soil with a PH of 5.6-7.5 Keep it watered but not soggy.

Planting and Growing: Sow seeds indoors about 6 weeks before last frost. Do not cover seed, it needs light to germinate. Suitable for outdoor planting, but not recommended for containers. Self-sows readily if left to go to seed.
