Internationally known speakers on how to farm sustainably are coming to Grass Valley, California! A yeasty combo of keynote speakers, face-to-face chats with famous farmers, workshops, and exhibits awaits you in downtown Grass Valley over the weekend of January 19 and 20. The Sustainable Food and Farm Conference is for you if Valuable resources for both beginner and experienced farmers & everyone who wants a healthy lifeJoin in all, or a few, of the events. Kick off the weekend Saturday morning with a Q&A with the Salatin family from Polyface Farm in Virginia. Find out how they work on a multi-species, multi-generational organic farm. Father, Joel Salatin, will also be one of the keynote speakers later on. Tickets are going fast for the Polyface You! session.
Inspiration and information all Saturday afternoon with the four keynote speakers: Will Allen (shown above) is an urban farmer in Milwaukee. Joel Salatin from Polyface Farm is a stirring speaker and the author of Folks This Ain’t Normal. Temra Costa is an organics activist, radio host, Sonoma County farmer, and author of Farmer Jane: Women Changing the Way We Eat. Mark Baker made the news when he defended his right to raise heritage hogs on his family farm in Michigan. Sean Croxton of Underground Wellness Radio will tie it all together as Master of Ceremonies. Twenty workshops on SundayFrom foodie to farmer to livestock dog—it’s all there on Sunday.
