We hope our new video, Composting 101, inspires you to start a compost pile.

Composting is easy!

Most of the time, that is. But solving any problems with your compost pile, is definitely easy.

We think this chart (from the University of California Cooperative Extension’s Master Composter Manual and Ron Deiro, a Nevada County Master Gardener) gives clear solutions to most compost pile issues that could arise.

 

For more research-based composting information, consult your local Master Composters (part of the national Master Gardener program). We’re in Nevada County, California and we have terrific Master Composters!
