Sharon and Tricia met at an attention-getting garden in a round stock tank—designed by organic farmer Fred Hempel of Baia Nicchia Farm in Sunol, California.

Sharon writes and illustrates garden books, most with a special focus on how to get your children (and grandchildren) out into the garden. We like all of Sharon’s books, but our current favorite is Toad Cottages & Shooting Stars with ways for grown-ups to share gardening and garden-to-table cooking with kids.
