Maggot barriers are a brand new concept to protect apples, pears and Asian pears from infestations of the apple maggot fly and codling moth. One easy application to fruitlets early in season is all that is needed. Eliminates use of plastic or paper bags, traps or pesticides. 300 maggot barriers/bag. Made of 100% earth tone nylon.
Feedback Most of our customers have had very positive feedback, with many achieving excellent control of codling moths. However, a few have reported still seeing some codling moth damage. These have been growers with very high codling moth pressure. We are awaiting test results from several universities, which are testing a heavier mesh product. This product may be available soon
Please note that these are not foolproof -- they are approximately 80% effective against the Codling Moth Larvae.
